The first Model European Parliament was held at the University of Macau. It was chaired by Dr Sten Verhoeven who firstly made a brief introduction. Participants then discussed the role and functions of this EU institution which composed of more than 700 members directly elected from all the 28 member states and also about the possibilities for future enhancement of its competence towards the formation of the Commission as well as its supervision on EU’s budget policies.
